What is a Fraxel Laser?

Fraxel Laser Treatment improves your appearance by effecting only a fraction of your skin at a time with thousands of tiny microscopic laser spots.

Fraxel laser treatment (FLT) is the original “fractional” treatment that produces thousands of deep, tiny columns of trauma in your skin, called microthermal treatment zones. It intensively treats thin columns of the skin without affecting the surrounding tissue reducing healing time while promoting the skin’s natural process for creating new, healthier tissue.

How does Fraxel Laser work?

Fraxel Laser treatment uses patented fractional technology to target damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into the skin. The laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, leaving the surrounding tissue untouched, which promotes rapid healing. This stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, replacing the old and new damaged cells with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

When do the results appear, and how long do they last?

The results are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer and smoother, look brighter and show a more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to create new collagen. Results are long lasting depending on your lifestyle, age, skin condition and skin care regime.

Fraxel laser resurfacing treatments have been performed almost a million times, with an excellent safety record. The procedure feels like a hot prickly sensation, and takes about 20 minutes. You will feel and look like you have a sunburn for usually 1-2 days. We want you to consistently use the prescribed topical medications, and we will apply them immediately after the treatment.
